In today’s class we’re going to explain you what a marketing plan is.
What should you know after this class?
Marketing plan.
- It is a document outlining the channels and methods a startup will use to reach their target market.
- It includes marketing objectives, strategies and tactics that will be implemented.
- A marketing plan is the advertising strategy that a business will implement to sell its product or service.
- Information included in the tool mission, vision and value is key and need to be considered.
- It should include statements around the mission and vision as well as strategy goals.
- We need to focus in the channel that we are going to use.
- Phases: situation analysis (SWOT, already seen), selection of the key issues, definition of objectives and strategic and tactical plan.

- SMART: Specific ➡️ Measurable ➡️ Achievable ➡️ Realistic ➡️ Time-bound
Strategic and tactical plan.
- WHAT ➡️ Strategic marketing outlines what you are trying to achieve.
- HOW ➡️ Tactical marketing covers how you will try to achieve it.
- Strategic marketing gathers all the information from the situation analysis and focuses on achieving the smart objectives.
Tactical marketing gets into the needs to discover what actions will best serve the strategy.
